Anna Wright
Back in 1964 I had the choice of entering either the Art or the Craft Department of the City of Portsmouth Teacher Training College. I chose the Art Department.
Following a varied career, during which I taught on oil field schools in Brunei and Oman, I opted for early retirement and worked in the voluntary sector.
My creativity was fired up in 2004/5 by the City and Guilds Level 2 Embroidery Course being run in Marple, but I found the pressure unsustainable and only did the one year course. I love working with textiles ad learning about the wealth of craft materials now available.
I am now a ‘workshop junkie’, mostly attending sessions given by Ribble Creative Stitchers, a group who meet mostly near Preston.
Skills and techniques learned there I pass on at workshops I give at New Mills Original where I am a founder member.
