Textile Artist

Anne’s work has developed over the years from traditional work using pastels and gouache to her current wearable textile pieces.

Her passion for colour and texture has led to exploration with felt, a medium she finds exciting and unpredictable. The different ways in which the materials respond depending on the methods used produce constantly surprising results. The design of each piece develops organically during the making, building on the patterns, forms, and textures evolving during the process, resulting in each piece being totally unique. Anne’s inspiration is found in her love of the outdoors, in particular the wild places of the Peak District and the shoreline and mountains of Scotland.

Anne uses finest merino wool, silk fibres and lovely vintage and recycled silk fabrics to produce warm yet lightweight individual pieces of wearable art that cry out to be touched and fondled.
