Always left-facing and often rather portly, the creatures depicted by Catriona Hall are largely based on those that surround her studio on the edge of the High Peak moors. She also specialises in portraits of pets or favourite animals and houses, immortalising her subjects with quirky simplicity and an earthy palette.
