Watercolour Landscapes and Ceramics
Trained in Printed Textile Design and was employed as a designer for 13 years.
I was born in Hathersage and now live in Whaley Bridge. My watercolour paintings are inspired by the varied Derbyshire landscape.
My work explores the division of space within the painting between the sky and the land, the fields and moorland and the ever changing light and colour.
Recently I have developed an interest in ceramics combining melted glass, often inspired by repeating patterns in nature.
Working in both watercolour and ceramics I enjoy the unpredictability of the mediums, which influence the finished artwork.
