Upland Images

Upland Images are artist Wendy Butler and photographer Paul McGreavy; a husband and wife team based in the Peak District village of Hope.

Living in the heart of the Peak District National Park has inspired much of Wendy’s recent artwork. She aims to communicate her responses to the nature of the light, patterns and textures around her, using different combinations of drawing and painting techniques. Many of her images are abstract landscapes and atmospheric still life observations, based on the natural environment. As they evolve they become infused with personal memories and ideas. It is her enthusiasm for exploring visual language itself that sends her off in many different directions using a range of media.

Paul is a prize-winning photographer who has developed a range of styles based on his local environment and his travels particularly in Asia and Europe. He specialises in capturing digital images of people, landscapes and micro-landscapes
